development The PostNuke Steering Committee is pleased to announce the project has been accepted into the Google Summer of Code (SoC) this year. This represents a significant step forward for the project in an exciting year at PostNuke.

We intend to use the SoC to push the project's development forward following the final release of .8 and the unveiling of our new identity. There are a number of proposed projects on our ideas page that we hope will interest and excite students. This is an excellent opportunity for the team to get some of the large projects we have planned for future versions implemented quickly.

We're also interested in hearing ideas from students not listed on our suggested ideas page. The more students to get involved, the greater the long term gains for the project, and the more potential future community members to get involved.

If you're currently a student, please consider enrolling in the GSoC this year and contributing to PostNuke. We look forward to receiving your project proposals and mentoring as many students as possible.

P.S. For those interested, our mentors for this year are Mark West, Robert Gasch, Frank Schummertz, Axel Guckelsberger, Simon Birtwistle and Steffen Voss.

So....Soc starts in May...and we want 0.8 to be released before then and of course have time for any minor bug reports....I'm seeing an early April release date, no? icon_smile
