Troubleshooting Problems

Re-enabling a disabled site using Swiss Army Knife

If you disabled your site in Settings in order to take it off line while doing repairs, you will find that you cannot get back to re-enable it if you log out or if your currrent session expires. Here is how to re-enable your site.

  1. Download PostNuke Swiss Army Knife (PSAK) from Downloads -> Utilities to your local computer.
  2. Read the accompanying Readme.html for the most current information
  3. Upload PSAK to your site root (the same level as admin.php, config.php...)
  4. Point your browser at yoursite/psak.php
  5. You will be at the Main Menu of PSAK
  6. To re-enable your site, use Site On
  7. Immediately remove the script from the site.

Security Warning

The PostNuke Swiss Army Knife provides very low level, raw access to critical components within the PostNuke system. This script has no passwords, or other such front-end security. There are 2 recommended things with handling this tool to keep your site safe:
  1. This script is designed to be renamed. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you rename the script to something other than its default name.
  2. When not in use, move the script out of your web directory and keep in a safe location.
