I have been using pntresmailer for a while but I really need something with more sophistication. I need something that will force subscribers to click an activation link. It would also be nice to have something that purges email addresses. Maybe does a simple SMTP test and for any emails that get a fail, it sends that person an email asking them to verify the address.

Any recommendations?

You could try WhatsNews, only I don't have any experience, neither if the module is still in active development.

I'm trying WhatsNews and It works fine... but it sends blank HTML e-mails :(
Installation is OK administration is OK, everything looks good, the first time I sent the newsletter it was OK and then all blank pages.
Any idea? I read about the same problem in the NOC website but no answer.

Haven't tried yet but features look promising. I see in the modules database version .8, but last released version May 1, 2006? Also I can't find an SVN repository in the NOC.

As project members I see Michel GREGOIRE, Rob Brandt, and xorprime. Is anyone still working on this module?
