no folder creation needed. Just upload the stuff into your HTML folder (once your done, index.php should be in there! ;))

    * Note For others that may read this:
Some servers have a /public_html/ folder instead of a /html/ folder.

I have phpBB2 already installed on my server, do I:

    1. Delete the files
    2. Leave them on there and install PostNuke beside it.

NOt sure exactly what the instructions mean by create database. I have mySQL from the server company installed on there. SO do I just ignore it or create a database...and what does that mean create a database?

Went to my control Panel on the server and this is what I have so far:

    Directory/File Name
    File Size
    (bytes) Options

    cgi-bin <dir>
    HTML <dir>
    index_files <dir>
    mm <dir>
    phpBB2 <dir>
    stats_files <dir>
    underconstruction files <dir>

    Thanks!

    IBCOHO</dir></dir></dir></dir></dir></dir></dir>
  • does the sight need to be in a main directory, or can it be setup within a folder? I tried running the install.php and all i got was a bunch of code
  • LOL I am stuck too!

I had my PostNuke site done for me, then I was left ot mine own devices, I have the them i want and need to FTP it.
    My themes are under publichtml/themes

Do I create a folder for it in themes eg. test1
then ftp it to publichtml/themes/test1 ????

or do i not have to make a prenamed folder for it?

Depending on what you are trying to accomplish, you can easily create a folder to put PostNuke in.

    For the database:
Your best bet is for you to create a new datase MANUALLY. If you can not, you can also use the existing database you have for your forum.
Be sure to backup the existing database!!
During installtion, have database information handy, dbname, dbuname, dbpass, and enter the prefix "pnuke_".

The prefix will help you distinguish the difference between the forum tables and the nuke tables in the future.

If you follow the steps of using the existing database or creating the database manually, you will not need to check the "create database" option during installation.

Sounds like you need PHP installed on the server.

When installing a theme, all necessary theme files go under /themes/.
You may sometimes not want to rename the folder because of the coding involved with the theme, it may not work if you do.

    Example:
I have a theme called oSCar. (notice the caps, keep it the exact way)

    I upload it to /themes/oSCar

Then it is selectable in the Administration | Settings, for a new default theme.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Good luck to both of you. :D
