No, you apply the changes to the News module as described in the prior posts, then when writing a news story, you put the [!--pagebreak--] or [!--pagebreak=Page Name--] (if using the "Sitepoint" style pagination) where you want the pages to break (similar to the Sections)
You would modify your theme, however, to include the extra theme variables (in themearticle PHP) to show links to the other pages in your desired format...

Oh crap! I just realized something...I've been reading this wrong the whole time! I thought this was to make it so that when u have like 5 story/article blocks, it will make a link at the bottom to go to the next page...not next page on the article itself. Doh! -

Really? I hadn't seen that on PN .750 - will have to look again...
You mean PagEd news *articles* (i.e. like the Sections, where you can specify page breaks), not PagEd news summary pages (which I'm aware was in there)...

Gotcha - I missed the:
Quote
If you want multiple pages you can write where you want to cut.
...under the AddStory box in .750.
Not nearly as flexible as my solution, though - maybe you could take a look at my method (esp. the "Sitepoint" method) for possible inclusion. Gracias.
P.S. Personally, I think [!--pagebreak--] is a better way to go than for pagebreak markers as they don't get lost in WYSIWYG editors (unless you can set them to display comments)...

Hi,, is it possible to do something like this, but just to show multiple pages of the "article summary" page? I mean the home page, because when you reach the limit you imposed, like to show 25 articles summary on the first page, when you submit the 26th, it will not show article summary number 1, ulsess you do a search for it.
I would be glad if someone could help me, thanks!!!! -

Nate,
Yes... Both articles and the article summaries are pageable in .750. I backported code i'd written for .8x to .750.
-Mark
Oh! Hadn't seen that one.
Could you tell us how or point us int he right direction?
Is it Xanthia specific or included in the News module per se?
Thanks in advance

I do use some CSS design for my website for the news pagination, i just add some div's to the code, see here www.to.ma
i don't test ur code so i will make it a try because i do use very long articles and i think sitepoint way is a good idea and its time to make news module look friendly for navigation a classic nuke look is ugly, 10x for ur tutorial, it help me a lot, by the way merry christmas , happy new year :) -

Salutations to you as well, Mr. Artist... Would love to see something like that in News by default, but it's easy enough to apply... Don't forget to also make the changes to your theme to reflect the paginations, "subtitles", etc...

Since this is a hack to the News Module, I think it should work about the same (though the code is slightly different for PN 750's news and I think it has a somewhat pagebreak thing built in...)

pn75 have the pagebreak, the problem is , its difficult for users to know if your article have a next page only small number <1><2><3> and its not good for navigation, the sitepoint that you made will be perfect if its added to the pn75 article hack.
thanks :)
