    Hello All,
I have been planning to build a web site for, years, and well... I am finally starting the proces. We are very excited to get going with the web development - I appreciate all the good experienced folks out there who help. Thank you -

I have downloaded PostNuke-0.726. I have a folder named "PostNuke-0.726" on my D:\ drive. My HD is partitioned - so - I have a C:\ and a D:\. All of the downloaded files are in this "PostNuke-0.726" file on D:\. I went to "MyServer.org" and set up this URL - "TheRatPatrol.ww4.us".

According to the PN installation instructions I need to run "http://TheRatPatrol.ww4.us/PostNuke-0.726/install.php" in my web browser to begin the install process. When I do this my web browser goes to "Myserver.org" (Myserver.org owns the domain "ww4.us") and I get a message from Myserver.org that tells me that "TheRatPatrol.ww4.us" is offline...???

Do you have to establish a working web site before you can install PN?? I thouhgt that PN was a web development tool/application ?? Where have I gone off track?

    Thank You -

    John

PN is a application not a web server/environment. PN requires that you have a working web server setup with PHP support and a mysql database backend. Most people setup PN using some webspace bought from a hosting provider.
