    HI there,

I'm trying to install XTE at www.myweblog.cn

I uploaded the XTE files, did a 777 on the pnTemp directory (and all sub-directories), went to the admin Mdules page and attempted to initialize phRender, but can only get the message "Failed to write config file".

I can't find anything in the instructions, and haven't found anything in the forum posts and site articles here.

Can anybody suggest what's wrong? Thanks in advance :) And a big thanks to the deveopment team for their work :)

    David

Boy, the same thing happened to me. Any ideas yet? Did you get it figured out?

Uhh, actually I got past that error with the tried and true delete and reload, reinsall, reinitialize.

But now when I try to access either the pnRender or Xanthia modules all I get is a BLANK SCREEN.

    Back to search . . . .

you need to CHMOD 666 the config.php file - the installation writes to that during the initialisation process

There is also a pntemp.php file that you place in the install directory. Make sure this file was uploaded.

Yep, did all that. Deleted and reinstalled three times now. Can initialize and activete in the correct order, modules show up on the admin page, but clicking on either one produces a Blank Page, no PostNuke "surround". Hitting reload does nothing.

    Still looking and trying things.

I got the same problem, but it was fixed by making the config.php file in the root directory writable by my webserver as I found where the module was trying to write to it and that error is generated when it fails.

Not sure if that's the 'normal' way to fix it, as there is no mention of the config file in the install instructions, but no problems yet.

We missed that particular requirement in the instructions for RC2 but will be included in the instructions for RC3. Apolgoies for that oversight.
