Problem with the install interface
 Top

  • Hi, I have downloaded PostNuke and extracted it to the correct directory, I am now trying to run install.php to cnfigure it. The first option is the language option, yet there an no languages displayed in the box. I can select none and click next, then it brings up the lisence agreement which i agree to. It is then followed by a window saying the following in text:

    _PHP_CHECK_3
    _CHMOD_CHECK_1

    _CHMOD_CHECK_2

    _CHMOD_CHECK_4
    _CHMOD_CHECK_6

the bottom two have a little red tick in a box, which i cannot tick or untick, and the button below that say's _BTN_RECHECK_
If i Hit this button all it does it refresh the page again, so basically im stuck, I cannot go any further than that window.

Any help on this issue would be much appreciated, thanks guys

  • I'd suggest downloading PostNuke .726 again and trying fresh...

the _CHMOD_CHECK and _BTN_RECHECK_ things you are seeing are language template placeholders that should be replaced by much more verbose text, however when you selected no language, the script cannot find out what to replace those holders with...

sounds to me like a corrupt distribution file
  • Ok, I listened to your advice and tried redownloading PostNuke and starting fresh. I did this 6 times and still no changes, there's no languages coming up in the first box at all, and the problem is exactly the same as listed above. If ANYONE has any idea what is going on please reply.....
  • can you give us more information on your environment? operating system, http server, PHP version, database software... etc
  • Yeah here's a few links to help you out

    http://tarra.homeunix.net/sysinfo/
    http://tarra.homeunix.net/phpinfo/

Hope that's of help to you, if yu require any additional information just post it....

Oh BTW, Im uploading it to the server via drive mapping to a window XP professional AMD 2400+ XP system.
  • How much space does your host give you?
  • Check you are uploading files in the correct way - binary for images, ACSII for text files..
