1: There is a Module Developers Guide in the doc site & There is a "Template" module included in PostNuke for the current way of doing thigs and an Example Module that you can download from the PN Downloads for how to do things iwth pnRender.

2. Search the forums for some comparisons - there are some quite in depth topics.

I think second question was very interesting and it remains without a clear answer:

I'm having the same problem, after migrating from PHPnuke to PostNuke.
Some simple customized module which only displayed some info was upload and showed when regenerating modules list, but then a sencond one very very similar is not showed, well, in fact there are a lot of PHPnuke customized modules not showing, and the're all uploaded to modules directory.
I could guess it was something with the modules theselves, but there's no reason for one to be showed at modules list and not the others.
BTW, there's no regenerating error message or Blank Page as I have been reading on the board, but just the same unchanged module list!!
Which could be the problem?

oof! I've solved it myself... it was a simple path error... I was uploading to the worng directory!
sorry!
So conclusion is PHPnuke modules can often be just uploaded and then treated as any PN module.
PS: You can find you're in the same problem when you try to access directly that module and you get a 404 error instead of a the typical not activated error message :)
