install.php -- Problem in Database Connection
 Top

  • hello, i recently downloaded the last PN 0.726-1, i unpacked it to the publicated dir, and when i run install.php i got

    Problem in Database Connection

Note that i have a user and a database created with full permisions

I have a few questions: wich is the procedure to install PN?
i created the user in the database and the database itself.
what next? do i have to modify the default config.php or i just have to run install.php? if this is the case, what can be causing that problem?
    Thanks in advance.!

You only ever get that from index.php, and it means PostNuke's configruation details are not correct.

You need to run the install.php file and follow the process, thats it, there is no need to modify any files.

  • mmm...thats extrange..because i got that error when i go to http://mymodmain/install.php

    check by yourself www.exactas-unr.com.ar/install.php
  • Me thinks your install.php file is messed up, because until you set the info for your DB, the install system doesn't touch the database at all.
  • ...maybe the web server is configured not to allow directory browsing, so it shows only the default page index.php, is it possible?
  • Nope, that wouldn't be it. It could be some server config setting, but not that.
  • have you ever heard about such setting before?, the server is runing apache, what could it be? any ideas?
Well thank you very much for the help!
  • I would speak to your server administrator as there is something clearly not right about the web setup (possibly .htaccess rewrite rules...). For example nothing in a sub directory works either e.g. this one.
