Howdy, just starting a new project.
PostNuke, postcalendar, already complete.
Next phase is integration of oscommerce, phpbb and perhaps the ability for members/users to post a webpage of their own.
I am just starting and wondering if anyone can point me to any reliable mods for this.
And perhaps let me know if there have been any conflicts noted with such a project that I should be aware of going in.
Thanks in advance for any comments up front, I will be researching while working, just thought I'd see whats out there that I need to know! -

PNphpBB, or pnForum for the forum (search mods.postnuke.com)
osC hasnt been integrated yet (although the guys at www.samstech.net were working on a script connector, but it hasnt been released). Either you can be the first ;) or check out pnCommerce.
The last mod doesnt exist, sorry.
Conflicts will happen between any module that uses Smarty (in your case, postcalendar) and any module that uses pnRender (pnCommerce is one). These can be fixed, see the release article for XTE RC2 or www.elfisk.dk for a solution.

Just a heads up, samstech is no longer working on the osc connector for PostNuke anymore. In fact, they've dropped all PostNuke development.

humm maybe I will have to change the plan then..
I'll get PNphpBB in there, I guess.
Can you recommend a different calendar then, I am really looking for a system that will work reliably with my users. I saw PostCalendar in action on a site and thought it looked fairly full service... What were the problems with it, if not to much I can probably edit the code where instructed to correct...
What would you say a functional mod would be that will handle the sale of items thru PostNuke, that will integrate well with paypal??
Thanks in advance for your knowledge!! -

It is easy enough to fix, details are in the release article - it's not a problem, just a reasonably easily resolved conflict.

PostCalendar integration problems:
I took a look at pncommerce.com and am installing that. With it is recommended that I install the following... (which I have)
PNrender
XTE (Xanthia Theme Engine)
Once I completed the install of the above mods, the PostCalander did not work.
To fix this, I followed the directions on this link:
http://www.elfisk.dk…ead&order=0&thold=0
Now PostCalander is working except that in the non-Xanthia theme - the numbers don't appear in the calander squares, the region in the squares is 'clickable' and does lead to the days events if any. The other themes look okay.
I do require that users be able to maintain personal calanders, and believe by the conversation on this link:
http://www.elfisk.dk…&order=0&thold=0#21
That I may have created a problem with users and personal calanders.
Does anyone know of further discussion on this issue, or any further hints posted here would be great!
Thanks in advance!! -

I followed the manual for pncommerce... did find some areas confusing, but thought I had it.
I did as recommended and installed the full version of pnrender and XTE first.
both are initialized and activated.
I uploaded all files of pncommerce to the module folder as instructed. In the manual it said to:
Quote
Upload index.php found in the pacakage /html/index.php to your PN root. This is needed to replace the original that came with PN.
Well there was no folder in the pncommerce package called HTML - however there was one in the pnrender package, and it had the index.php file in it, so that is the one I uploaded to the PN root.
I initialized pncommerce, and activated it, there was a link there showing that I had to upgrade, so I clicked that and initialized and activated the pncommerce. It is all showing up in modules and in admin area the picture and link are present for pncommerce.
Problem is:
When I am in admin area and click on pncommerce the next page that loads is the main index.php file for the site (the one in PN root).
I have placed a link to the pncommerce in the main menu area by editing the main menu as instructed in the pncommerce manual, however,
When the link is clicked, I am taken again to the default index.php file for the PN root.
Pncommerce is not showing up at all, please assist?!
(pnrender (in edit area) needed a check mark to allow pncommerce to use pnrender- I check marked that)
I chmod all the folders in pnTemp and that folder 777 as per manual.

Post to pnCommerce support about this, but in the meantime try re-installing pnRender, and then pnCommerce from scratch.
