I'm trying to install PostNuke (phoenix) on my remote server that I pay a company $90 bux a year for. I'm new and don't know what I'm doing, but here's what I've done so far:
1. I downloaded PostNuke (phoenix). I ftp'ed the "HTML" folder CONTENTS in "public_html" because I didn't find an "HTML" folder.
2. I put the Phoenix-SQL folder in "public_html" as well because I didn't get instructions where to put it.
3. I went to www.mydomain.com/install.php and got to the "40%" page, where is asks for the database information. I don't know what to put in the following fields:
Database Host
Database Username
Database Password
Database Name
Table Prefix (for Table Sharing
Database Type MySQL
Database Table Type
Extra info: There were two default databases already existing...I believe they are for the built-in PHP-Nuke support that this web host supports. I created a 3rd database and called it "straight_p_pn1," which is based off the names that the other two are. I created a user for that database and called it "straight_p_pn1." After logging to phpMyAdmin 2.4.0 (included by the web host) I saw that database is created and it gives me options to create a table but I don't know what that is so I haven't done any thing else concerning databases at this point.
Any help would be much appreciated!! I looked up and down the forums as much as my brain would allow and didn't find any helpful info.

You'll have to ask your host. They are the ones that know for sure what you need.
Based on yor post, you should know at least part of the info you need. -
host: localhost
username: straight_p_pn1
pass: whatever you set it to
name: straight_p_pn1
table prefix: nuke
type: mysql
table type: myisam
That should get you started from what you said, but if not, talk to your host...

Then you probably have the wrong password or username for your database. It's best to contact your host to find out what you need to do. At $90/year, they should be able to tell you something.

what about that phoenix-SQL folder??? what do i do with it or with the "Phoenix-0.7.2.6.sql" file inside?
and so far am I doing everything correctly? or does it at least sound like I'm doing it correctly?
the only prob with the company hosting the site is that they told me once before that they don't support PostNuke-i'm assuming they meant over the phone, but the are PHP-enabled, which I'm assuming means that you CAN get PostNuke running on it. -
The SQL file can be ignored.
If they won't help you get the database access, the time for a new host. -

"unable to make database"
did you check 'create database'? If so, uncheck it as you have already created it.
