I'd like to know your opinion on which tool is best for building article-based websites.
They will have a large tree of categories and subcategories, each with several articles.
These are not news items, but articles that have a permanent interest.
I want to show a brief description of each article on the list, and also have features like a version for printing and a search feature.
It would be nice to have the capability to add articles online through a WYSIWYG editor.
I also need a forum but I can install a separate product for that.
In essence, I need CMS capabilities.
Which product do you recommend: PHP-Nuke, Drupal, PostNuke, other? And why?

Out of the box and nothing added, probably Xaraya, but with some Third Party modules, PostNuke can do what you need, and you won't even need to install a seperate Forum, just install one of the Forum Modules (at least 3 of them).

I agree with mhalbrook (if you don't need any of the features (gallery/calendar etc) not released for Xaraya yet). http://xaraya.com/ version 0.9.9 was released a couple of days ago. For support I recommend the newsgroups, the forum is quite new and not very active yet.
