Hi all. I only discovered this program yesterday.
I have just uploaded for the first time all the files in the HTML folder
I've pointed my browser to to the appropriate page...
Yet.... i get this error....
Warning: main(pnadodb/adodb.inc.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/myusername/www/postnuke/install.php on line 93
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'pnadodb/adodb.inc.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/share/pear:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/myusername/www/postnuke/install.php on line 93
-----
I have tried chmod the config/old config file to 777, but this makes no difference.
For the record, my webhost is phpwebhosting, which i'm sure has what is necessary for PostNuke to run.
Any ideas ?
ps. I've no idea on what all these 'blocks' are, or whether i must install some for things to work ?
Anyway.... any suggestions would be appreciated.

Looks like missing files.
Hmm, I'm confused. What files might be missing ?
(i've checked, and everything that was in the HTML folder is uploaded)
Could it be that my ftp program is uploading the files in the wrong format. I am using smartFTP.

RE: the phoenix SQL file. I've not uploaded this, and i don't know whats it used for. -
I was reading something.... and it mentioned phpLIB. does anyone know anything about phpLIB ?
What is it, and do i need it installed ?
I think my webhost said i can install it in my local root directory.....Hmm -

Make sure that file exists, and is readable (and is not corrupted).

You dont need that if you run the install script.

.
Is this 'pnadodb/adodb.inc.php' file, part of the post nuke download package , or is it meant to be part of a program already installed on the server ?

yes, i found that file in unzipped download package.
----
Yet, i cant see where the 'pnadodb/adodb.inc.php' file is, when i use my FTP program to look through the PostNuke folder on my web host.
What about permissions ? I've read a little, and set install.php to 777, old config, new config to 777, and even the install folder to 777
---
To me- mostly ignorant, so far it still looksl like i need to have something called phpLIB installed - although i know nothing about this program.
(does anyone know if phplib must be installed for PostNuke to work ?)
Many thanks for suggestion so far. -
FTP settings....
just another query....
i've never had any problems with other PHP - including phpbb.... but my ftp uploads all PHP files in ascii format, is that the right thing to do ? -

upload that file to where?
I don't understand. I've uploaded ALL files twice now. -
Where did you download PostNuke from? If you don't see the file on your server, then you didn't upload all of PostNuke.

I downloaded from this site.
The unzipped package, minus the phoenix SQL file.....
size on disk, 12.4mb, 1410 files in 278 folders.
I don't understand. How am i supposed to know if its there or not ?
ALL the files are sorted and seem to change when they are uploaded to the server. -

You look, in your FTP client.
That error means that, most likley, the file is not there, or is nor readable by the webserver. Some FTP clients are unreliable, so try another one of those, and check you have enough space on your host to upload it all.

Hmm........after another 'attempt' this morning...... i realised it was indeed my FTP client - Smart FTP program that has been messing me around. It has been refusing to upload blocks of files properly.
So..... end of chapter 1.
(now.....onto database error)
