  • Ok, I am getting this error when I try to run install.php, at the point where the database should be created:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in.

The pnForum FAQ offers this advice on the error:

When I try to install or access my PostNuke installation, I get the error
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in.

mysql_connect() is a core PHP function for handling MySQL, this is a problem with your PHP configuration not with PostNuke, you should contact your web hosting tech support about the problem immediately.

I do not use a web hosting company, but am running PHP & MySQL as installed by default by RedHat 8.0. The php.ini file has been untouched. What do I need to change/fix/add to get this issue corrected? Thanks in advance for any help.
  • You need to reinstall PHP with MySQL support - for more details see specific PHP support sites, for example www.php.net

  • Ah, that would make sense. Let me try that, and I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks!
