My Incomming block disapeared after I installed BSCI Permission system, well actually its not even showing up in my blocks new blocks menu. I did not know where to post this please forgive me if its in the wrong area.

It works if I turn the BSCI permission system off. but I cant see it in the view blocks menu either. has anyone come accross the same problem.

I don't know if this has been straightened out yet - but last time I looked the BSCI "Module" is a combined Module plus a core hack. If you install hacks on your system, there is not much of any way the core developers will be able to assist you later on - and you will need to stay in touch with the module/hack developer. That's the bad news.

The good news is that Chris Miller is fairly active here in the forums and over at the PostNuke NOC (probably where you downloaded the file). Recommend you log in over at the NOC and then go to:
http://noc.postnuke.com/projects/bscipermissions/

There you will find a "Forums" tab where you can communicate direct with the developer.

Me? I'm going to hope that he and Larsneo (pnDev Team permissions guru), can eventually get together and come up with a "Killer" system for managing permissions that is easy to use, has a proper administrator interface and doesn't require hacking any core files. In the mean time I will wait and hope - but will stick with the (UGH) core permissions setup.

Thank you very much sir. You have been very helpful. Hopefully like you said that this can be incooperated into the PN permissions core.

Which version of the BSCI Permissions System are you using? Are you using the Xanthia or Non-Xanthia version? Did you de-activate the Incoming block in the Admin->Blocks section and then forget to re-activate it? The 'View Blocks' section will only show you active blocks. If you have disabled it in the Admin->Blocks section then it will not appear in the block list for the BSCI Permissions System.
I need a little more information because I haven't heard of anyone else with this problem.

As a side note I did finally get around to updating the code today to speed up the block code. Every version through 1.0.7 takes 2 database calls per block to determine if the block can be viewed. Version 1.0.8 and above takes 2 database calls per page to determine which blocks the user can view. So if you have lots of blocks on your site you should see a decent speed improvement.
