What are the major differences when installing for a windows system and linux system?
I am trying to upload PostNuke to a linux system to run on.
I already have it running on a windows machine but now that I have uploaded to a linux server, there are problems with Connection to Database.
Ideas?

Try the search function before posting. All scenarios have been covered pretty well. If you can't find your answer in one of the posts, then try and give a little more info so you can get the help you need.

If you have a reasonably recent Linux distro - and have verified that Apache, MySQL and PHP are correctly installed/running PostNuke installation is essentially the same as for a Windows box. Upload it - run http://yourdomain/install.php (or possibly http://yourdomain/yourdirectory/install.php)...
I recently installed Fedora Core 1 on a test box and everything went beautifully.
If you are getting an error message, you can cut/paste it into the Forums Search here, (trim out anything unique to your machine), select "search for all terms" and hit "Enter". I do this routinely and 99% of the time, I find it has already been discussed and with patience find the answer to the problem.
OBTW, I liked Fedora so much I elected to keep it. ;)
Hope this helps!
