Installation, Configuration, & Upgrades  ::
http 404 page not found
 Top

  • I have uploaded the current version of PN to my website in the public HTML folder. I chmoed the config.php and the oldconfig.php to 666. I then typed http://www.threeriversmasons.org/postnuke/install.php into my browser and I got a 404 unknown message. The installation page never came up.

    I changed the name of post nuke 7.... folder to just post nuke. I figured it would be easier to type. Did that cause this problem?

    I know my host, Ipowerweb supports PHP4 so i don't think that is the problem.
  • I see you've travelled some.

    You didn't really install it there. On a hunch I took a look at:
    http://www.threeriversmasons.org/postnuke/html/install.php

    (Note the insertion of /html/).

    And guess what I found! ;)

    If you really wanted to have it at the document root of your web, you might want to delete everything off of the server, then go through the process again, but this time start your upload by sending all of the contents of the package's /html directory and below (not the HTML folder itself). That might make things a bit cleaner for the site and easier to reference your members to later on... Remember to again chmod those two files after you upload them. <grin>
