I'm having a similar problem. I'm trying to install either phpnuke or PostNuke from my host which has some sort of install script and all I do is check the boxes and click install. I did not use either *install.php*. I'm having problems with both. For PostNuke I get the following errors...
Warning: Access denied for user: 'seasonal@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /pnadodb/drivers/adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 108
Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Access denied for user: 'seasonal@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /pnadodb/drivers/adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 108
mysql://seasonal:@localhost/databasename failed to connectAccess denied for user: 'seasonal@localhost' (Using password: YES)
I don't know which FAQ to check, nor do I even know at this point which PostNuke I have. Can you explain what you mean by a database created, not populated? I have a database created and the name in the config file seems to be right. It seems that the database was created when the installation occurred ... I did not specifically make the DB as I didn't have anywhere to input info. Like I said, my host has some sort of install file. When I look for install.php it is not on my directory so I assume it's deleted after the installation is finished. I did find out the phpnuke was 5.5 so I assume the PostNuke is about the same age. Can someone help please?
So far my PostNuke errors aren't nearly as confusing as the phpnuke errors. Whichever I get up and running first wins LOL.
Thanks...

I'm having a similar problem.
But not the same, please do not append your own issue to someone elses post, often times, people will flag a suppor thread to watch, it's not fair to them to see a response is made only to find out it was someone asking a question on their issue.

Well, for starters, what is this "Some sort of install script" there are several hosting control panels and some of them have multiple 1-click install applications available. I'm assuming your host uses CPanel and the Install system is Fantastico as those are the most common?

The FAQ is in the main menu to the left, this is covered there. This error means that it can't connect to the database, if you used a 1-click install to set up PostNuke, odds are you don't have permission to create more databases, so you won't be able to use Fantastico. -
Thank you for your reply. I did change the pw in the config file. That seems to get me to the index.php page but when trying to log into the admin.php page it sends me to the index.php page for which there is no admin link. I can't seem to get into the admin account. I have posted my problem to another area of the forum, hopefully I got it right this time, as a new post at

I'm hoping I've posted this to the right place? Please forgive my ignorance, newbies are ... well ... new. Thank you for your time![/url] -
You log in like a regular user and then you'll have the admin link visible.
-
So then ... I create a *regular user* first? Then log in under that user id/pw and then I'll see the admin link and should be able to log in as admin? Or do I then have to create an admin account? *Confuseled*!
Thanks for your reply!!! -

Well that's a problem then because I was not asked to create an admin login. As I said before I got those errors (posted above). I tried changing the config.php file to another password ... when I hit reload the admin.php page went right to the index.php page without anything else happening. I don't recall creating an admin login.
Is there any way to find out if an admin already exists?
Can you tell why the admin.php page goes to the index.php page without any apparent reason?
Thanks again... -

OH wow, I got into Admin LOL, had to *guess* the pw but after several tries I got it (have since changed it).
I'm not sure what the install script was, it was part of my host offerings and I'd just check *Install PostNuke* and click the install button and it was online (with errors which I think I have since resolved).
Thank you for your help! My site is started and I'm working feverishly at it now. Hugzzz! -
This is why I don't offer one click installs to my clients. I have the option available to me, but there are too many potential issues, and I don't get paid to support 3rd party scripts.
