Sorry if this has been discussed already, i'm new to the forums. I don't know if this has only happened to me or if others have experienced this, but I was mucking around with a copy of the pnDefault template on my site last night and I screwed something up that killed my site and I couldn't figure out how to undo it because there was no way for me to access the site again.

I had accidentally left of the '$' in an [$imagepath] tag in the master.htm template. This caused a Smarty error that I could not recover from, even after I had fixed the error. The error was cached somehow and I couldn't figure out what to do to manually empty or reload the cache.

If there is a FAQ I think it would be really helpful to know the steps on how to either manually (i.e. without using the settings screen) change the theme from a Xanthia/pnRender theme to ExtraLite or how to manually reload the template cache from the command line to a known good (unbroken) state.

Fotunately this wasn't a "live" site, and I was just playing around so I just dumped the database and reinstalled PostNuke, but I'm sure there must be a better way than this :)

    BTW i'm was running 0.7.5-RC2

    thanks

You can alays append ...&theme=ExtraLite to see your page in the ExtraLite theme. This way you can reach your admin panel and correct everything there.
You can as well use the PostNuke Swiss Army Knife pnsak

Use the Swiss Army Knife as Jorg has outlined. Additionaly never work on a theme that is the active one.

Thanks that's good advice. I did some more reading and realized i should be using the preview theme feature.
