Disable Registration Process?
 Top

  • With me using Post Nuke and PHPBB and members having to register twice and accounts getting deleted, is there anyway to disable the registration process and allow all guest and anynon users access to the post nuke site?

Ive already tried using PNphpBB2 but i dont like it as they took away too many features that i like on phpbb.

    Thanks

  • Have you tried pnphpbbhacks.com?

They have been adding a multitude of the features and hacks to the PN Version? That would seem a lot simpler than using two separate systems.

    Cheers
  • Yes I have tried post nuke and PNphpBB2 and i dont like the the PNphpBB2.

until they put the features back that the phpbb had im staying where im at.

They removed to many vital features that i need.

Is there a way to diable registration without having to modify or hacks?

  • I gues it depends on which registration process you wish to run with - PostNuke or PHPbb?

If you want to disable the PN registration just remove the user module and disable the links in which ever theme you are using.
  • What did they remove?
  • yeah pbphpbb works fine, only one registration and i tought nothing was removed, only converted it to PostNuke.
  • I dont remember all of the features I would have to setup the board again and look at the admin functions again.

I do know for sure though that one of them is the ability for users to change their user names on their own. and another is the ability to change their passwords.

I forget what the others were.

I just know that I need those feature especiall when members start crying and saying i cant do this or i cant do that.

Personally im not that happy with post nuke right now and am seriously considering on just creating a static web page with clickable links to where i want them to be able to go.

Right now all i want to do is be able to not have to have people register with post nuke and only register for phpbb.

  • when you change password, it will change on PNphpBB too, name is the only thing you can't change then
  • Im NOT using PNphpBB2, I am using Post Nuke and PHPBB.

    NO PNphpBB2

My questions are directed specifically at Post Nuke not the message boards.

  • I'm running into a similar problem and saw the post above about deleting the user module? If I delete user from the PN core, won't that disable admin abilities? I don't want people to register as users at all, site is for everyone to use, but I still need to log in as an administrator...
