I've started to fool around with the new xianthia and pnrender (themes). I'm impressed about the new functions and ease of making a totally different look and combinations...(just using the functions inside Xianthia admin)
I think many will find it a bit hard to understand how it works, so the admins of PN should be open for any suggestion made on those kind of issues... It is way easier than by first look.. so anyone giving it a shot. Don't give up. The big deal is that you use Xianthia (admin area) to configure the output of your site... don't hassel to much around the theme it self!
My suggestion is to add some pictures(buttons) to the choice of config options in Xianthia (when working on a theme) The words block zone /modules zone is fine but not to explainable.... perhaps a bit scary... You don't want to mess around too much...
Anyway.... You made me supprised and even more fan of PN!
Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the feedback - especially when it's good ;). The entire dev team; in particular Larry (xanthia) and Jorg (pnrender) have put a lot of work into making XTE what it is.
Is it perfect? No of course not and we're always looking for ways to improve things. The xanthia terminology has been one that Larry and Brook have fought with for a while..... How do you best label these features. While icons could be a useful addition there are accessability concerns with an icon only solution so the terminology still needs to be addressed.
The real power will start to become apparent with fully templated modules. To be able to put any module functions output in a block, or in other content, or antwhere in the the theme, To use the extensibilty of the theme engine to access any part of the PN enviroment, To have non HTML themes etc. XTE with .7x mere scratches the surface of what is possible...
Again thanks for the feedback.
