hi there you cool helper :P

this is what my problem is:

i want to host my site at lycos, but the problem is that i cant install PN they gave me a DB and it is called mdehoog_nl_db. when i go to the install folder im unable to use that database, can anyone tell me what to do?

BTW this is what i fill in the install form:

database host: lycos
databse username mdehoog
database pass *******
databse name: mdehoog_nl_db (that is the DB i got probs with)
prefix: nuke
Data base type MYSQL
table type: Myisam

can anyone tell me what to do, this is the fault i get: unable to make database.

It looks like the mdehoog_nl_db is not created on ur dataserver. Go back to lycos and make sure that you got the correct DB name. Make sure that the DB is made so that PN can create required tables.

change the DB name in config.php and everything should work
i tried it that way and it worked fine
except that i got the message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: automatednews() in /data/members/free/tripod/nl/o/n/k/onkruidzaaier/htdocs/modules/News/index.php on line 61
after i tried to start the site

A wild guess but if I get an error message stating: unable to make database.
This can mean 2 things: 1. the install script can't create the database because it is already there. 2. your install script hasn't got the rights to create a database.

Normally only a user with root privileges may create a database. In the install script do not check create database because as you mentioned Lycos created a DB for you.
