If this is not the right forum then please forgive me.

My site and forums are now working correctly. But when people register they do not receive their password via email. I think that I have the configuration correct but apparently not.

When I check the MEMBERSLIST I can see them there but that is all.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Just a thought on a couple of things to look for.

For the email account you have set up on your system as the admin email account, are you getting messages indicating that email was undeliverable to a user? What I have found at times is that various spam filters and such will sometimes prevent the email from reaching the person and it gets bounced to my admin email account telling me it was undeliverable.

You might want to create yourself a 'dummy user', that is just a user that you can later go in and delete, and then as the admin of the site try to email that user and see if the message gets through. This might let you know if email from your site is getting through or not.

Just a couple of thoughts for things to look for and hope it helps :)

I fixed the problem by allowing people, when they register, to choose their password then.
