Boy, I seem to be having a bit of a problem installing the new .750.
Everything seems to install properly, but no matter what, at the end I get this:
Error connecting to DB
Program: /home/clifft/www/install/db.php - Line N.: 45
Database: Phoenix
Error (1045) : Access denied for user: 'clifft@localhost' (Using password: YES)
Now I've connected to the database and installed the tables from Phoenix manually no problem, but I can't get the site to run.
Now, this is just a play site, but I would like to get this running.

Thanks!

.750 Install DB Problem

If you're manually creating the database using the SQL dump rather than the install process, you will also need to modify the config.php and make sure that you set the encoded flag to 0

Thanks mhalbrook, but I forgot to say I had done that when I put the DB access and password in. Still n o go.
Erased and reinstalled twice now, also no go.
It's gotta be something simple I'm just missing . . . . -

Have you temporarily set the CHMOD permissions properly to allow the install.php to work? I think that config.php an config-old.php have to be reset temporarily too.
If this is the problem and it fixes things then DO remember to change any permissions back again after. -
oldman (sounds familiar!)
Yep, did that, as well as the files in pntemp as well. But then install.php won't let you proceed if you don't!
mhalbrook,
I have tried install.php, and get the error message at the end as mentioned in the first message. After install.php failed to build the tables (the DB is created by the host) only then did I try it manually, and it still doesn't work. -

Thanks for the comments and interest Larseno, but that's what I meant when I said I had already done that (set 'encoded' to 0) when I manually entered the DB name and password into config.php.

check the mysql-permissions for the specific user in the Phoenix database

Hmmm, OK, I'm not sure I know how to do that. But if I can build the tables manually, shouldn't the permission level be OK?
I've got a nasty feeling in the back of my head that my host may be running an old version of PHP. I can't check that for a few days now, but is there a greater requirement for 0.750 than 0.726? Seems to me I remember that, but I can't seem to find it right now.
