importing users from phpNuke and from phpBB2 to PostNuke

  • I have 4 DB's I have to convert over, but I only need the user data so that users can sign in to the NEW site if they were reg'ed on the old sites. 2 of these DB's are PHPNuke 7.0 and 2 are phpBB2 forums that the client wants ripped out and placed into this PN site so that nobody has to "re-signup". Oh well.. i just do what they tell me.

Any easy way that you know of?
  • ..I responded to your PM.. did it help or was this posted the same time the PM was sent?

    hope it helped..

  • It did. Did you see my response?
  • yup.. I think one of the fine folks @ pnphpbb.com could help more with the forum transfer.. I'm really not very familiar with either of their data structures.

  • dolbex,

Please keep ALL support queries on the forums - PM's to the individual staff is not aceptable. The premise of open source is coummunity learning and responsibilty thus PM's to an individual is not in keeping with this ideal

  • I'd like to transfer users content from a PHPNUKE database to a PostNuke as well. I'm helping a paying customer redesign from PHPNUKE to PostNuke - all new look.

InvalidResponse, Can you share out loud what you PM'd dolbex?

Edit: I'm just wanting same thing like dolbex if my post is confusing... just the user data so they can sign in with same password. If Location, etc. is salvagable too, cool. Don't care about last articles, forum posts, etc.
  • Perhaps you should read this

When you have data as phpbb2 requires and like PNphpBB2 upgrade from phpbb2 requires, just install PNphpBB2 and voila, hopefully, all PHPNuke or phpbb2 users are imported to PostNuke.

Read also PNphpBB2 installation instruction as it has more info on phpbb2 to PNphpBB2 upgrade.

I haven't ever done this, but it should work. In PHPNuke version 6.5 FB started using phpbb2 user tables so that integration with phpbb would be easier.
