  • I'm trying to install PN on a local machine running IIS with WXP Pro. I have MySQL installed with the newest version of PHP also. I keep getting errors whenever I try to create the PN databases.

    database made.Error connecting to DB
    Program: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\PostNuke\HTML\install\db.php - Line N.: 45
    Database: Phoenix
Error (1044) : Access denied for user: \@localhost' to database 'phoenix'
connect string: mysql://:@localhost/Phoenix error: Access denied for user: \@localhost' to database 'phoenix'

I'm stumped becasue just 2 days ago I set this up on my W2K machine with the exact same settings. Now with XP I can't get it to work. ALl Im trying to do is set it up so I can develope locally then figure out what I want to do then work on my Internet site after I have a gameplan.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

  • I am getting the same error

    Error connecting to DB
    Program: /home3/rjoe/shovelbums-www/public/pn/install/db.php - Line N.: 45
    Database: shovelbums_org_pn
Error (1044) : Access denied for user: 'myaccount@localhost' to database 'shovelbums_org_pn'

    on my account at oneworldhosting.com.

the user is the Database Administrator and I have tried this with a user with full permissions. I also tried the route of manually importing the phoenix database files and I get the same error.

    thanks!
  • Access denied means SOMETHING is wrong in the connection info, either the database host, user name, password or database name. If you manually edited the config.php, then you need to make sure that the encoded value is set to 0
