PostNuke 0.750 on Fedora Core 3 - Cannot get past CHMOD chec
 Top

  • Hi Everyone..

Newbie question here re: installing PN.

I have just rebuilt my laptop with Fedora Core 3 and have configured mysql & apache.

I have hit a brick wall with the PN configuration as it repeatedly tells me that I need to chmod 666 the config.php file and chmod 777 the pnTemp directories.

I have repeatedly chmod'd, removed and re-untarred the PostNuke files; as well as using diferent directories...but regardless of this I still get the same error when I try to run through the install.php screen.....

Is this a known issue ? or am I being a muppet and doing some stupid ??

I am also getting the magic_quotes error, but I am going to dealw ith that once I resolve the chmod problems...

    Any advice greatfully received...

    Heave.
  • UPdate: I have now rebuilt my laptop and started from scratch - All permissions were set prior to running the install.php.

I STILL get the same problem.......Has anyone actually got this going on Fedora ???
  • I've got the exact same problem.
Config is: IBM ThinkPad X21 with Fedore 3
    mySQL 4
    Apache 2
    PHP 4

What PHP call does thisuse to check the file permissions?
