.750 Banner Help... Please!!!
 Top

  • I have found numerous articles on banners but I cannot seems to find the one that helps. Just FYI... I am a novice.

    Configuration:
    http://neocug.webhop.org
    BSD Linux
    PN .750
    PostNukeBlue Theme

This is a clean install of .750.

I got everything working except the banners. I use to have banners in .726 and had no problems getting them work but .750 just doesn't want to go for me.

I have created the client and the banner. The banners are activated through admin. I created the banner and the graphic shows when I edit the banner. The banner type is "1". banners.php is in the root of the install and /includes/pnBanners.php is there.

Now, I have read several threads talking about editing the theme.php, banners.php, and even the pnBanners.php files but I cannot seem to find pnBannerDisplay() in any of them. The only thing that I have done was change the BannerContentBG.gif to the image that I want in the banner but it is not the working banner.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks...

I believe that it is. I mean I had to add it through the Xanthia control panel in order it use it.

Where in the master.htm file do I add ? I am guessing between the section.

    Thanks.

I don't understand. It still is not working. Am I missing something? Here is what I added to the master.htm file through the Xanthia editor.

    strong>" alt="" />

    Is this right?

    -Thanks again...
  • no img src .. just the banner tag:

PS: add it directly to the template and then reload that template in Admin->Xanthia->Edit Theme->Theme templates

OK. I did that but when I reloaded the template my changes where gone.

Also, after changing it the banner was blank, but no error messages. I think we are getting close.

Thanks for your time, and patience.
  • ..add directly to the template, don't use the editor.. then reload :)

    Sorry...

I guess the "directly" should have tipped me off to not using the editor. Anyway, that did not work. I edited the file "directly" than reloaded the template and I still have a blank banner (no errors).

I know that it must be something I am doing wrong I just cannot see it. Is there anything I can do to make this easier to diagnose?
