  • Hi there all.

I am having a littel niggel with my install.

I have a PostNuke setup working just fine, But I can't seem to change the domain name that the PostNuke site is ment to be.

    here is the site.

    http://www.onlinetruckers.co.uk/mk2/

but if you type that in to your browers you see that it then changes to http://www.jimbolan.com/mk2/

    I know rufly whats happening.

My host has the Cpanel system for server control and the donmain for it is jimbolan.com
I then reged the domain name onlinetruckers.co.uk and pointed it to my DNS sever and then in cpanel, Parked it. its not just a forwrded URL its a parked domain.

Now I know its has to be somewhere the you can change teh domain name in post nuke to whatever it's ment to be. but I am buggerd if I can find it.

A good expample is the phpbb2.11 forums system. in the setting of that system there is a optson to cchange the domain name that the scrips work in the right way.

All so I need to to be set right so that when e-mail is sent from the site, it has the right domain name in it.

    Code

Hey! You got a new submission for your site.:
    http://www.jimbolan.com

    I need it to say

    Code

Hey! You got a new submission for your site.:
    http://www.onlinetruckers.co.uk

    So can anybody help?
  • That's a host issue, not a PostNuke issue at all, so it's off topic here.. but here's some info for you.

A "parked" domain doesn't actually associate the name with your site like you need, it's not much better than a forwarder.

Your host needs to set up the provider's DNS server to accept your domain, and then you have to sign in to wherever you registered the domain, and point it to your host's DNS server (which is an IP address you need to get from your host.) Contact your host for more help with this.

    Hope this helps!

That is what I had done to the letter. but it only does it sometimes. I was thinking that maybe its somethink to do with cookie now and it might only be my bowser as I have a phpBB forum running live on that domain and I am in the prosees of making my PostNuke site to replace it in a dir below it. went the site gose live, I intend to move it up to the web root dir and hopefully that will fix it. But is what I was looking for was a bit of code that will fouce the site to think it was at www.onlinetruckers.co.uk . Can it be done?
