Switching hosts problem with transfer
 Top

  • I know this has been covered in multiple posts but can't find the answer to my question there. I get the old "Fatal error: call to undefined function: themeheader() in...line 141. Have used the Swiss Army Knife and get the problem with arrays showing up when I try to reset the theme. I know the problem is with the zend optimizer.
I have access to my site yet on the old server. If I switch to the ultralite theme and export my database again, should my site work without useing the Swiss Army Knife or am I screwed unless I can get ipower to upgrade zend?
    Thanks in advance.
  • If you can't get them to upgrade Zend, then leave. Plain and simple. Odds are that won't help.
  • Don't switch hosts to Ipower. They are using Zend Optimizer v2.5.1 with PHP with 4.3.10. They say it is impossible for them to upgrade Zend. Am trying to get a response and refund back as we speak. I think good luck to me.
  • why would Zend break PostNuke? Thousands of PostNuke sites use that very config. Sounds like someone doesn't know what they are doing. I compete with Ipower and though they get a bad rap sometimes, they do usually know what they are doing. If it is a zend problem you can put the config files in your root, and if that doesn't work there is a directive to add that is beyond the scope here, besides, thats not your problem. Do this... http://yoursite.com/index.php?theme=ExtraLite and don't forget to change yoursite.com to yourrealsitename.com so I don't get accused of anything. I don't know the SQL to reset your theme off the top of my head, but you can find it. If I am wrong about any of this I aplogize now.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by putting the config files in your root? Do you mean you could locally upgrade the zend engine or PHP?

  • if the executables are properly installed, I have had to place some zend config files directly in a users webspace... http://thierweb.com. I am a little busy now but can look into it later unless you feel like going to http://www.zend.com/phorum/ and see what they have to say about it. You will also notice that the version you are using is the recommended version. Not much help, but I gotta run, be back l8tr
  • Well, it appears to be a compatibility issue between the Zend Optimizer and PHP. I have asked my Host to update the Zend, but I have yet to receive a response to any of my emails.

  • did you try http://yoursite.com/index.php?theme=ExtraLite and what was the outcome?
  • Nope, have same problem/issue.

Zend indicates there are known issues with PHP 4.3.10 and older versions of the optimizer. From what I can find on the PostNuke sites, this seems to be the problem related to the way PN uses arrays sometimes.

  • You want some temporary webspace with a working config? Let me know, its no problem. I have seen that error before, when tweaking themes or a couple times when I uploaded incomplete versions of PostNuke to a site. There are so many people running that config that don't have probs, I have a hard time believing it has anything to do with the box. Also... I use smart ftp and sometime for no reason I can tell, it just stops uploading files with out a warning... The little window reads transfer complete but the logs read transfer canceled. I use a shell for most installs just for that reason. I could fix it when I get some time if you are interested. Try me on yahoo.
  • I had to go tweak my profile to get my time right...
  • Again to clarify, I had not updated my theme or site. Only change was the PHP update to 4.3.10. I agree, and have seen issues with my theme, but even the ?theme=ExtraLite doesn't work.

  • let me know if you want some space till it gets sorted out. I use that config and as you can see, mine isn't broke... http://foralaugh.com http://servershit.com http://webhostingaccess.com

Umm, the version of apache, PHP is right, but probably not the version of zend. Perhaps your host will upgrade zend...
  • Host upgraded Zend, and everything is fine. Again proper version is 2.5.7 for PHP 4.3.10.
