I am preparing to upgrade from .75 to .761 and would like clarification.
Step 6 emphatically states to "Remove ALL the files in your existing PostNuke distribution." and then move 3rd party modules/blocks back in.
My question is whether or not renaming the directory holding my current distribution will do the same thing as removing it, as in:
1. Current: /mysite/cm/.75 PostNuke distribution
2. Rename 'cm' to 'old'
3. Make new directory in /mysite/ named 'cm'
4. Install .761 into: /mysite/cm/
5. Move 3rd party pieces from /mysite/old/.75 PostNuke distribution into /mysite/cm/newly installed .761 PostNuke distribution
Works? Works but there are gotchas? Blows up?
Apologies if this is a dumb question...but I'd rather ask a dumb question than end up in a dumb dilemma.
Thanks.

yup. that's good. Just make sure you backup your database first. Then if you have a problem, you can just rename your directory, upload your database backup and you are ready to try again.
