I've read thru the first 6 pages and did not find any topic replies that proved helpful in solving my problem. Installation has went through okay for me after a bumpy start.

However, I'm at the point where it asks if you have a database set up, or if you would like PN to set up and populate the DB for you.

I clicked yes, I wanted PN to take care of setting up the DB and this is the error message I recieved .....

Warning: Unknown MySQL Server Host 'njatnigh' (2) in /u297/njatnigh/phoenix/install/newinstall.php on line 36

Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Unknown MySQL Server Host 'njatnigh' (2) in /u297/njatnigh/phoenix/install/newinstall.php on line 36

Warning: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) in /u297/njatnigh/phoenix/install/newinstall.php on line 37

Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) in /u297/njatnigh/phoenix/install/newinstall.php on line 37

Warning: MySQL: A link to the server could not be established in /u297/njatnigh/phoenix/install/newinstall.php on line 37
    Unable to make database

Any idea what this means? Should I be altering code within each PHP file as well? It didn't say to do such within the instructions I downloaded along with the PN files.

    Help??

Basically its saying it can't connect to the mySQL database. Run install again and then say no and it will then put only the needed information in the database. Hope this helps.

noeling, do you know how to make a database? Is there one already setup on your server?
PostNuke cannot create the database if the information you provide is not typed in correctly.
    databasename
    password
    database username

These are key to having the install go off without a hitch.
If you need a hand post back.
