Hi:
I am having this problem since some time. I can see the menu properly.
http://www.mysite.com/index.php?module=v4bAddressBook
It shows something with mozilla, no dropdown menu with IE. This is with a Win XP client. Have not tried yet with other setup.
Any pointer or idea?
Thanks.

1) It's best to ask Openstar related questions on http://openstar.postnuke.com as over there I'll be sure to see it
2) Since you already seem to have a layers-based menu on your site, I think your (and my) browser gets cofused with all the layers. I'm not sure what to do about this. We may have to offer a traditional menu along with the layers based one for cases like yours ... I don't have an instant fix for you though ...

Hi:
Thanks for the comments. Since my menu if hardcoded within the theme, I will have to wait until a traditional menu is available. It seems like a JS conflict.
Hope a fix will be available in the near future.
Thanks again.

You shouldnt use or expect much from the v4b modules, I have tried two now, PostCalendar and the v4bAddressBook. They both are so buggy that should be called BETA, and not used in production. You cant use an addressbook where the entries do not get saved, where the contact fields are buggy, mixed info etc..... I think some of the responsibility should be on this sites admins who allow people to enter here info about modules that are supposed to be better, more clean etc.. but that do not do the job. Here a question, why the modules you can test are not even used in the Openstar site? not even as a demo...

If you would have been a bit more patient, this would have been solved. I posted a patch for the AddressBook (it was a data, not a code issue) as well as PostCalendar.

Maybe because given the nature of the site there's no real use for these modules? Why would a community site feature an AddressBook?

Robert,
I've been playing with your OS modules (or Value4Business modules?) and also found them a bit buggy and rough around the edges. Not to complain because I can see a lot of work has gone into them and none of it by me but OverU has a point, why not call them beta or release candidates? Afterall, <tongue in="in" cheek="cheek"> not even Microsoft gets it perfect the first time.

PS I've noticed many of your forum postings are blank. Is this a bug or is tis intentional? I'd peruse your forums but, when you can't see what's posted, what's the point?</tongue> -

I unfortunately have to agree and I'm not very happy with the 4.02 release. The problem is that we've done a massive amount of re-engineering over the past 2 months to get everything 0.8-ready (which involved chaning the configuration stuff around twice to get it into final form). Then the security fix in 0.762 required some more extensive code changes which hit us unexpectedly and in the process of which we broke some stuff (sometimes I really wish PHP would have a strcict compiler like Java). So yes, we have some issues but we're working on sorting them out. Bear with us here for a little while ... as a matter of fact I'd like to release 4.03 which fixes a bunch of stuff but since I'm going on vacation, the timing for this is very bad so I'll probably wait unitl after my vacation which means you'll have to live with the patches for now)

This I don't understand. Can you explain this in more detail or show me an example?

I don't know how else to say it...I can see everything else but, where the posting should be, I just see an empty box. Hasn't happened yet when I'm logged in but several times as an annonymous user. I can't get it to happen right now...maybe this is only after a search. I'll have to test that idea but it is annoying.
