I just installed .763 and the main index page is not showing any content. The theme related items show fine.
No errors at all during install. No errors reported in my script logs either.
Admin panels seemt to be fine and all menu items and admin functions are there and working.
here is the URL that users would see http://www.cmmsnet.com/community
I am sure it is a very simple admin SNAFU but I am unable to find the answer in a search of the forums or in the documentation.

No, this is not an admin snafu. This is a new one to me.
Very interesting though...

What are you using for a server?
Possible incompatible server config... Possible corrupt/missing files(s)...

I am using yahoo hosting. They are using apache as the server. The "No Database Connection" you came up with bothers me a bit.
I am going to have to look into the config file a bit!
I was able to add a news story and that does display. Still no blocks are being displayed.
I have checked the permission settings as best as I can understand them. I just copied the permissions from the online documentation and used those. I'll try re-loading the site and re-install.
Please give me a couple of hours to get this done before anyone tries to take a look at the site.
Thanks! -
Yes, I did notice the user.php came up... weird... but no blocks...
Anyway looks like you fixed it.
What was wrong? How did you fix it?

OK! I got it fixed! Here was the problem:
1. All steps of the install "seemed" good. All indications were good.
2. After install, no blocks showed on home page...indicates no blocks available
3. Investigated the database and sure enough, no blocks were in the blocks table!
So, I used phpMyAdmin to drop the entire database and then copied the SQL from the phoenix.sql file to rebuild it.
I now had a functioning home page with menus, admin message, etc...
The only remaining problem was my admin login! Since the passwords are stored after they are encrypted with md5, I just used a PHP script to encrypt a password for me and placed that into the users table for the admin password.
Now, I can log into the site and administer it.
The real problem here seems that for some reason the install script did not complete populating the tables with required entries. This could be due to some wierdness with yahoo hosting! Strange configurations seem to be a yahoo favorite!
I hope this sort thread proves to be of use to others!
