  • It still does the same thing. Everything works, but you can not log in. I have no idea what to do. The only thing I can think of is to do install and then choose upgrade.

Try this user to see what it is doing. It says you are logging in, but when it redirects to the index you are not logged in.

  • Ok I created a username, testing with a password and I have the same problem.
Can you change your theme and set a column on the right for the users to login? Change your theme to ExtraLite or blue theme that comes with your CMS. It still appears to me a cookie issue or missing files since everything looks correct and no error message on your page?

  • The theme currently running on the site is Extralite and I added a block for userlogin.

I am also thinking it has something to do with cookies.

As it stands now .764 is currently running at www.kbcf.com/postnuke/index.php As is stands now everything works, but users can not login. .750 is running at www.kbcf.com/postnuke-old/index.php. They are both running on the database for the .764 version.

Would there be a problem that I have two versions of PostNuke reading off one database? Any ideas would be great.

    Thanks.
    James
  • No, there shouldn't be any problem having both of your sites pointing to the same database... Infact some people do that having many sites sharing the forums etc...
Your problem remains a mystery and I did try logging in with different browsers even used different OS's Linux and Windows.... Browsers (FireFox, IE, Konqueror)...

  • The cookie for the .764 version looks like this.

    Name: PHPSESSID
    Content: f1b98877fe6ba22fa41344c1ca907bdf
    Host: www.kbcf.com
    Path: /
Send For: Any type of connection
    Expires: at end of session

The cookie for the .750 looks like this.

    Name: POSTNUKESID
    Content: a6e53815449647409d1a7cf4f2ca709f
    Host: www.kbcf.com
    Path: /postnuke-old
Send For: Any type of connection
    Expires: Wednesday, December 10, 2031 6:09:05 AM

It appears to me that the path for the .764 cookie is incorrect, but I have no idea.

FYI: I am still able to log into the .750 site.
  • although .764 should work with register_globals=on i'd suggest to change your server settings to register_globals=off as advised during install. can you login to the upgrade.php script?

  • I don't know if this means anything, but I just looked through my cookies and it seems that the PostNuke sites have cookies named POSTNUKESID.

The only PHPSESSID cookies I found were from Drupal sites?

That worked! Thank you very much! I turned them off through .htaccess in the root dir.
  • As borat says "Success". Glad you got it worked.
