Uhm what block are you talking about. There is in the NOC:
1) Extended Story Title block in the storiesext NOC (storiesext). A block that displays story titles with a lot more options. If you want this block to display in more places you will have to set the block positions correctly. I will update the downloadable version in the NOC, since I have made some improvements.
2) Content plugin with the options of 1) in the News value addons entry in the NOC (news noc)
3) Feature story block in the making in the storiesext NOC.

Hi Erik - I am using extended blocks in Zikula 1.02, and news stories, regardless of status (pending, rejected, published, or archived), are showing up. "Publish on news front page" is an option that is automatically checked when the news is submitted, and that is how I have my extended blocks set up. Obviously I don't want rejected or pending articles showing up. Help?

Hey, you used the v2 for Zikula 1.0.2 right ? Just checking to be sure what where talking about.
I dont think I took into account the status you are talking about. And neither does the regular Core News block which I used as basis for the block
Pending articles are also showing up ? I didn't expect that, mmhh that's not good. I think I will have to add the options to choose what to display or just skip pending, rejected and archived.
You might want to file a ticket in Cozi with the storiesext block and the Core project so that it is not lost.

I will come back on the issue. Give me some time

Let me know if you need more information. FWIW, the rejected & pending stories aren't showing up on my news module, so I doublechecked to make sure there wasn't something going on with my News install.

I am having a problem with users' submitted news going straight to Rejected status, but I assume that isn't related. But just in case it is, I thought I'd mention it.

Working on it. The default stories block that comes with the News module also displays pending articles, mmhh. That is not good I will file a ticket for that one as well. Checking out the code, the status field is not checked when obtaining the articles, whereas the status field is checked with the normal news module index list. So that is why you only see published articles there.

I will add the status field to the storiesext block. Then you can just select the ones you want listed.

Damn, I get the same thing with submitted going directly into rejected, when testing Added info to the forum topic. There is an error in the code

Hey, I added the status (published as the default of course) selection to the storiesext block. Check out http://code.zikula.org/storiesext for the download of version2.1
The default stories block is solved in the core project and will be in zikula1.0.3 when that comes out. See bug 228/229 in the core project.

Another question - can the comments count come from EZComments, or do they only pull from the one that comes with the standard Zikula install?

The comment count in Zikula is only from EZComments, since that is the comment module for Zikula. But I think there is/was a small bug in this part with selecting the correct newsitem. I didn't test the code with EZComments myself yet. So that's why I didn't see the error.
I updated the SVN code and added the package to the download section of storiesext. Version 2.2 should work ok with EZComments. Can you check and report if it doesn't work?
