Hi once again, i seem to get things going good and then something else goes wrong. i am learning that this is par-the-course with PN. i appreciate you guys helping out with your advice.
when i click on my admin/legal and my admin/xanthia icon i get this error message i figure you guys may have ran into this before and could help:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /home/content/z/i/p/zipppy/html/includes/classes/Smarty/Smarty_Compiler.class.php(273) : regexp code on line 2
Fatal error: preg_replace(): Failed evaluating code: '', " ")) .']-->' in /home/content/z/i/p/zipppy/html/includes/classes/Smarty/Smarty_Compiler.class.php on line 273
i traced the code the error message points to but could not find anything that looked obviuosly wrong.
thanks,

Looks like Smarty is sticking on a template... have you recently customized any templates from the admin module? Or even the legal and Xanthia modules? Did you recently change to a new theme?
If the answer to my questions are 'no' then I'd suggest re-uploading the files for those modules in that order as something is corrupt.

yep, i tried to add/instll scribite but could not get it to function correctly. according to the scribite docs/install/readme you have to modify some code but i went back to correct all that, although i could have missed something of course. i will go back through and check.
thanks

reinstalling the two modules, that would mean reconfiguring of my theme would it not?
i would basically have to start from scratch again.

Just replacing files does not require re-installation.
but would i have to reconfigure my theme, news,..?
in other words, would i loose current information posted?

replace the files not affects the database then your posted articles won't be lost.
Files replacement is to correct possible corrupt files, like Topiatic says

hi, have replaced bothe modules, xanthia and legal. i still get the same error.
i installed my local "wamp server" php.ini in order to get the forum admin issue corrected which you helped me with a few days ago. if you remember reg_globals was on and i could not access my forum admin panel. installing the php.ini corrected that issue but i suspect it created this new issue. any thoughts or suggestions?
appreciated
thanks

very possible... I would suggest you just use the register_globals off of your php.ini not the whole thing.

that did it! i copied the section with data handling that included "register_globals", made another php.ini, removed the old and it worked. sometimes a little experienced guidance helps. thanks
