My site is
http://www.technobilder.de - a community/gallery site located in western germany and dedicated to electronic music
e.g. house, techno and such.
I started in 1999 with pure
HTML and tables, then went to phpnuke on to
PostNuke about 4 years ago. Technobilder today is visited by around 40.000 IP's per month, giving about 250.000 visits and 2.5 million PI each month. It runs on a dualcore athlon with 2GB ram.
I make heavy use of postcalender, so I was happy to switch to the better performing
Openstar version, but still I need a better performing script here. I look forward for crpCalendar with 0.8. Thanks for the temaplates that make design more easy, but as I'm neither coder nor artist I don't get it better that that (now). But I still try to get it better.
So I hope with 0.8 I can get one step further again, with a decent content system for news, a
Wiki, and other modules for getting a better community feeling.
I use a heavy categorized system - as I have a category for each ZIP area of germany. Thus 53xxx ist ZIP region of Bonn, 50xxx is for cologne - giving nearly 100 categories. What I havn't realized yet is to get this connected with the users profile information. I hope to get it done with 0.8 that a user enters his preferred ZIP in his profile (
e.g. where he lives) and get's content for that categorie first.
I do use some other minor modules and blocks, but as my visitors are quite lazy the site doesn't have a real community with lots of people online and chatting. Again I will do more for that with 0.8 - because I now earn a little money from advertising and just thinking what boost a working community will bring to that cant let me stop here
On the other hand my website makes heavy use of Gallery2 for 3 years now too. I found it's the only gallery script that can handle really large amounts of albums and pictures what means >1200 albums with over 200.000 pictures in it. So I just want to thank those guy too for a great script.
