Hi guys/gals, installed the pnweather module today and firstly I'd like to say I think its great. I am trying to find out if there is any way to 'output to a block'. Like the full page module aspect but I would really like to have a linked block on the front page, basically I wanna show it off. icon_lol I believe I've seen something similar to what I'm looking for (using pnweather) in a link from the forum here but cant find it again. Great module, hope someone can help, I think many people would be interested in the possibilities. icon_biggrin

Does it not have a block available in the blocks folder? I recall having blocks available the last time I've used it. Visit your blocks admin, add a new block and see if you have a weather block listed.

Hey, thanx for response. I did check 'new block' before posting and in the 0.764 release there is no option for block.(not in blocks list anywayz) . Not willing to go to the RC3 yet. Had RC3 installed for a play around but uninstalled it last week, too many probs at moment. example; cant edit blocks due to block creation page not rendering.(all the links in the block squashed up together so you cant see em let alone select them.(looks like a Java problem) Anywayz back to the original story. No there isnt a block option else I wouldnt be posting here for suggestions. icon_wink
PN8RC3 looks great guys and nice little user friendly bits, create own password for example, can't wait til the bugs are ironed out and it becomes 'admimistrator friendly' as well, been watching ever since Simon did his Andy Warhol theme and it seems to have come a long way. Very Slick. icon_biggrin

Are you using the same weather module I do? Please check, I have the most recent (with some private fixes I did) at one of my servers. This version definitely runs fine on 0.764 and 0.8 and definitely includes the block.
    Greetings,
    Chris

    Hello,
You are speaking of 2 deferent PostNuke modules : weather and pnWeather.
the weather module definitely has a wather block available since several versions. I am the developper of this PostNuke module and the latest version (not yet officially released but you can ask me if you want to try it) is pnAPI compliant, pnRender templated and run on PostNuke .8.
I don't know if pnWeather inlude a block or not.

OK, thanx for response. I'm fairly sure you have it right. The module I have is pnWeather, presumably the one I had seen was your module jmvedrine (weather).

I'm running the phoenix release 0.764, eagerly waiting for last bugs to be fixed in .8 Will install youre module later today and see, however I believe you've got it right icon_smile

And of course SLAM, thanx for input. Simple problem, simple solution. icon_wink

StefenWeather information unavailable: No data! down?

    Hello,
Most probably all sites using my weather (not pnweather !!) module have stopped working because weather.com has changed the rules for the URL to request weather data : the link parameter is now requested.

see here : http://www.vedr...pic-221.html a fix for this problem.
Reading their licence agreement there are now a lot of things that should be done to better comply with it :
    • change the weather channel logo to the new one
    • correctly link to their site
    • use one of the weather icons set included in the sdk
    • Suppress display of latitude/longitude of locations (this is sated in red several times in the agreement)

Unfortunately I don't have time to do that and as it is "non programmer stuff" (you only need to modify files and pntemplates) I will left this to weather module's users ...

Well I will post a corrected 1.41 version as soon as possible in the Downloads section of my website http://www.vedrine.net. this new version will have the change already applied.
As I was on it I have started the work to better comply to The Weather Channel Licence Agreement :
    • It is now possible to use the new icon sets (it was already possible to change the icon folders in module's administration but I have added the possibilty to switch from gif images to png ones)
    • The forecast display now use the new weather.com logo
    • Forecast display is now limited to 4 days (XML feed now contain only 4 days even if you request more so the last one of the old version was empty)
    • Latitude/longitude are no more displayed as requested by the licence agreement

Please note that to fully comply to licence agreement you should also increase cache time from 3600 to 12600 in module's administration (see agreement exhibit B)
