Can anyone give feedback with regards to the development of pagemaster (the successor of Pagesetter)?

As you can see on svn://netimpl.nine.ch/pagemaster/pagemaster there is a continously development.
It's almost feature complete (in compare with Pagesetter), but it still contains a lot of bugs I guess.

At the momenent Im upgrading one of my sites, which is using Pagesetter heavily, so I hope after that the most bugs should be fixed.

If I release a Beta, I will write an article on this site.

Sure thanks for the update Marco. I'll checkout the repository. Perhaps you can post some information on the progress? The differences with Pagesetter, except from using pn8 API's. I understand Guppy is not going to be continued? What about Topics / Categpries? Search? scribite! integration/co-operation? MediaAttach, Mediashare?

    Feedback for initialisation problem:
    PN800SVN snapshot 20080331
    French .8 RC pack
    pagemaster SVN 2008 03 31

When I tried to initialize pagemaster, the system told me that I'll need to activate scribite! and thumbnails before.
scribite! and thumbnails was activated... but with french version pack the module name change in visible names column... so I used the original name and I could activate pagemaster...

Do you know what happened if I'll change the visible module name again?

This looks like a Bug of Module in PostNuke, because these dependency functionality is not implemented in pagmaster, rather in PostNuke core.
May you should open a bug in tracker of PostNuke.

To be honest, I would stopp testing pagemaster at the moment and wait a few days. At the moment Im upgrading a big site from Pagesetter to pagemaster and I found a few very serious bugs, which Im fixing at the moment. So stay tuned on SVN updates in the next few days.

At the moment I implement two nice new features:
    1. Stepmode
It will be possible to enter a big publication step by step
    2. Conditions
It will be possible to go truth the steps by workflow conditions. e.g. If the user selected at first screen a specific value from a pulldown, then screen 3 is not shown, he will go from screen 2 to screen 4.

And no, pagesmaster will be not easier to handle then Pagesetter icon_wink

That sounds really nice! Can this jumping from screen 2 to screen 4 also be done on the basis of permissions. For instance state blah_2_groupX nextstate blah_3, blah_2_groupY nextstate blah_4?

Yes, also possible. But permission based Worklfow steps are allready possible with Pagesetter.

I presume this mean those 'steps' are workflow states?

yes thats true. you can do:

    index.php?module=pagemaster&func=pubedit&tid=1&goto=stepmode

and then pagemaster will redirect to
    index.php?module=pagemaster&func=pubedit&tid=1&goto=stepmode&pid={NEWPID}
after successfuly saving the publication. So you can implent a step by step publication

Also possible now, to execute a workflow action with URL (if the states and permission allows it)

I think I should start a documentation for that icon_smile

Where should I put my templates?
Should they keep the same name as in pagestter?

The pagemaster module seems working, but I can't view my publications.
    Thanks for your answers.
