Can't login into trac and it seems can not add anonymous tickets. Therefore the following here:
- - think the project looks very valuable!
- - thinks documentation would be very welcome or a forum thread explaining the basics (what can I do with blanktheme? where do I start?)
- - wonder if / how YAML builder fits in
- - tested YSlow (http://develope...o.com/yslow/) on a site in development and found it gave some hints on 'put CSS at the top' and 'put javascript at the bottom'
Thanks, I'll play around some more -

Entered the ticket (http://trac.postnuke.com/blanktheme/ticket/2),
There is already a manual, but it is not there in the trac at the moment, strangely enough. Ammodump will know more about where it is. A news article with a first release is in the planning explaining the major behaviour.
The Yaml builder could simplify the template layout you would want, but this is far from ready

Hi dits!
About the javascript at the final, it's not possible with js-stuff like the efa fontResize script, but it's possible with prototype based stuff, and it basically depends of the core itself, because the pagevars are included in the HEAD automatically.
And about the YAML builder, we have an agreement with Dirk Jesse and we have the source-code of the YAML builder under a non-redistributable license. We have to adapt it to BlankTheme and help to Dirk to improve it... time is short right now, i hope we can work on it soon...
Enjoy!

What can it do..?
The best way to put it.. is it can make developing themes easier. It is not a work around for not knowing CSS, XHTML, Smarty, or Xanthia. It just take those things and puts theme into a working toolset.. to ease development of themes.. It is a framework, so the problems with developing X-browser themes can be reduced, standards set, some good old Xanthia tricks ready to go..
This concept allows for the rearrangement of columns and zones on the fly, and also in theory the nesting of these areas. And there is also a grid layout for some real crazy stuff.
Also with slick variable IDing you can create custom CSS to suit your needs on a per module instance.
Furthermore we have added multiple approach adjustment to allow for different templating styles. We also have made it possible to do template level override of administrative configuration to further give theme author and end-users maximum control.
This is a sort of compilation of ideas, approaches, theory, experience that Erik, Mateo, and myself have with using the Xanthia Engine and a proactive approach to reducing CSS and X-browser issues.
This is the beginning.. as we have more ideas to implement.
