I believe you place it in your includes/blocks directory. Then make a new block. You shouls see counter on the dropdown list..

rcillignope that didnt work for me....
I got this from the comments to the article linked from the first post in this thread:

    QuoteHi all,

I have got it workings, by luck if anything.

What you have to do is rename counter.php to visitors.php then put it in your includes/blocks directory, then it will show up in new block as Core/Visitors Custom Box.

The only other problem that I have found, is that it is not in English. Please would someone translate it for those of us who need it in English. Thank you.

    Hope this helps you all.

    Best Regards

Feel free to take a look at it on the right hand side of my Company Website at: http://www.jessonline.net/. It is titled How Many Visitors

There's some followup discussion on translation, which you can read by going to the Counter Block link in the first posting of this thread...

Sorry, I don't know. I only posted something that I found in the link mentioned above. Maybe someone else surfing the forums will come up with an answer.

Or you might try contacting Michael at http://www.jessonline.net, since he was the one who got it working...

The counter.php block should be re-named to visitors.php then placed in the includes/blocks directory

This is what the script should look like.

Alter the line at the bottom that reads:

    $content="We have received $total visitors since June of 2002";

to your own text, but don't take out the $total bit.

    Hope this helps you all.

See it at http://www.jessonline.net/ down on the right headed 'How Many Visitors'.

Jessonline.....I just did everything that you said but I am unable to create a new Visitors block.
It does not show up in the drop down menu when I go to create a new block.
I see that you have it working one your site.

Not only did I not get the block to work but it took down my site! :(
I had to restore the pnadodb/adodb.inc.php files to get my site working again.
