Is there a way to keep an important news story at the top of your index page, kind of like a "sticky" topic on a message board? The only way I've managed to keep the story I need kept at the top is to delete and repost it after a new story is added.

Anyone have any tips that could help? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I'd love to know how to do this also....

Perhaps you could just change the date on it and it would automagically resort itself.

Baring that, I do know that you can make an admin message or maybe a center block to hold you news item top middle position, but its not the same thing.

Portalzine.de has a block that is called Featured Article - this allows you to specify a topic id that will be placed in a block on your index page just like postnuke.com has with their featured article. Also have such as featured download, featured member, featured web-link etc.

Thanks for the tip. I downloaded and installed the Featured Article, but couldn't figure out how to get it working. It's activated in the modules but the sparse documentation tells me to edit the sideblock with the topic ID and I can't really figure out how to do that...

Add a second admin message or edit the first one to your needs. Wouldn't that suffice?

Or do you want people to be able to reply to it?

Basically all you do is add it as a block to your site - in the center - then type in the ID of the topic you want to display - you will see the topic number in the address when reading the article or in the admin menu in the list of articles with their id down the left - just type in the id of thew storey in the block configuration and that is it.
Hope that explqains if not i will do a step by step guide.

See? That's what happens when I try to make things too complex for my own good; I overlook the obvious.

Thanks guys, for all your help.
