We encourage everyone to contribute back to the project and we've outlined several easy ways you can immediately get involved:
- Contribute to documenting the project in the pnWiki
- Lend a hand in the forums by sharing your knowledge
- Create and share a theme
- Develop and share a module or block
- Report bugs
- Submit a patch
- Make suggestions on how to create a better product
Remember, everyone who uses PN has an opportunity to get involved and by getting involved we all contribute to creating a better application for everyone!
If you are interested in getting involved on a deeper level and have experience in PostNuke development, shown for example through a long standing and popular module let us know. Help is always appreciated and welcome.
Developing Your Own Module
If you are interested in developing your own module, there are a variety of services offered to support your efforts including a SourceForge resource we like to call our Network Operations Centre (NOC) where you can host your project.
PostNuke was the first OS project to provide this support service to third party developers and is still going strong, with hundreds of PostNuke modules hosted over the past four years.
Why should I use the NOC?
The NOC provides you with everything you need to start developing a PostNuke module. Features include announcements, bug trackers, task trackers, mailing lists, fully featured CVS and soon to be available hosting for your project website. We encourage everyone to use the NOC if possible as a central place for PostNuke modules.
How do I get started?
It's simple, register at the NOC, request a project, fill out the form and wait for approval. Once you are approved you can start developing! When you've finished your project, we invite you to add it to our Extensions Database.
I want to be involved with core development
When you've gained the skills and knowledge, and have some time to commit to PostNuke, you are welcome to contact us about your interest.
